Embolisation of a traumatic aneurysm of the posterior circumflex humeral artery in a volleyball player.

Repetitive minor vascular injuries caused by physical activity in athletes may lead to ischaemia of the upper extremities. In volleyball players in particular, traumatic aneurysm of the posterior circumflex humeral artery has been reported to be a cause of ischaemia of the arm and hand. Brief Report: Large Fusiform Aneurysm of a Circumflex Branch of the Posterior Cerebral Artery.

Aneurysm location relative to four anatomical posterior cerebral artery segments dictates which approach should be used for treatment: pterional transsylvian, subtemporal, or parietooccipital interhemispheric transtentorial approach. A right temporal craniotomy via a subtemporal approach was performed...

B-Mode Sonographic Assessment of the Posterior Circumflex Humeral Artery: The SPI-US Protocol-A Technical Procedure in 4 Steps.

Elite overhead athletes are at risk of vascular injury due to repetitive abduction and external rotation of the dominant arm. The posterior circumflex humeral artery (PCHA) is prone to degeneration, aneurysm formation, and thrombosis in elite volleyball players and baseball pitchers.
